Newsbank’s Black Life in America is a newly acquired primary source database documenting the history, culture, and everyday lives of African Americans in the news media. Drawn from roughly 19,000 national and global news platforms, including over 400 historical Black publications, this search tool covers news from the early 18th century to the early 21st century. Browse preset topics, search by keywords, or combine strategies with an advanced search function. Use this resource to discover how Black stories have been told, both by the dominant culture and by African Americans themselves.
