Requesting Library items

To ensure the safety of library workers, bookshelves are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ILL services have been expanded.

Scanning Requests

If you need a chapter, song, or article scanned for you, log in to ILLiad.

Choose the item (Song, Book Chapter, Article, or Request from Reserves) you need under the New Request Menu. Requests for items in the Monroe Library will be processed and scanned within two business days.

Scanning from Reserves

To see what books are have been made available by your professor, search the catalog for Physical Reserves.

Books on Reserve are not available for checkout. Use the "Request from Reserves" form in ILLiad to request chapters from these books. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

To comply with copyright, we will not scan entire books. See more on the ILL Polices page and the Course Materials Policies page.

Requests for Books, Scores, DVDs, and CDs

If you need an item that the library owns, and can come into the library, search for the item in our catalog and click "Place Hold." The item will be made available through contactless pickup. You will need to know your Library PIN Number.

If you need an item mailed to you, choose "Book or Media" under the New Request menu. In the notes section, write that you need the item mailed to you. Make sure your mailing address is correct in your ILLiad profile.
