Located on the third floor of the Monroe Library, Special Collections and Archives preserves materials related to the history of Louisiana and the South, the Society of Jesus, and Loyola University New Orleans. You can explore these collections here. The department's collection development policy may be viewed here. 

Special Collections & Archives also holds and provides access to thirty-six collections on microfilm ranging in size from one reel to 340 reels. Microfilm holdings are listed in the library catalog. 

Research and reference using Special Collections and Archives is by appointment only. Please please read our Researcher Guidelines and fill out a Researcher Request Form to make an appointment. Appointments will typically fall between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
