If you think you have lost something please communicate with Evonne Lawrence as soon as possible to prevent further fines.

If an item becomes 35 days overdue the item is considered lost and the borrower is charged the cost of replacing the item in addition to the accumulated overdue fines. Charges for lost items will appear on student finance records 35 days past the due date.

Replacement fees for physical books, scores, CDs, DVDs, or other information resources will be refunded if the materials are returned within one year of being charged. For laptops, no refunds will be provided 60 days after the borrower has been charged the replacement fee.

If you are a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans and wish to borrow physical materials (i.e. books, CDs, LPs, or music scores) from the Monroe Library, please contact Evonne Lawrence to ensure first that your contact information is up to date.

Alumni are able to use the public spaces in the library and check out up to ten books. A valid ID is required for checkouts. Alumni may only access online resources (e.g. ebooks, journal articles) while visiting the library and connected to the university's guest wifi network. Access to online databases from off campus is not allowed due to license contract restrictions.

Monroe Library welcomes visitors during regular business hours until 10:00pm Sundays through Thursdays, and until 6:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Late night hours are reserved for current Loyola students, faculty, and staff only.

Visitors may browse our print collections and study in our public spaces. Visitors may also connect to the Loyola-Guest internet connection with their personal laptop or other device to access any of our electronic materials (e.g. ebooks and journal articles). Loyola-Guest is an open network and does not require authentication. Users will have to enter their name and email address in order to register.  This registration expires within 24 hours.

A community borrower's card is available for purchase to local residents or long-term visitors who would like borrowing privileges. Cards can be purchased for $125 (cash or check), good for one year from the date of purchase. You must present a government-issued ID to purchase a borrower's card. This card grants borrowing privileges for print books, CDs, vinyl records, music scores, and sheet music. Check outs are for 6 weeks, non-renewable.

We are not able to extend to guests access to library computers, loanable equipment, printing, or private study rooms.
